What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage assigned caseload of disability claims for Short Term and Long Term Disability
- Communicate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather necessary information
- Apply contractual provisions and claim processes to ensure accurate eligibility and liability decisions
- Provide superior customer service by rendering benefit determinations within expected timeframes
- Analyze claims activity and prepare reports for clients and management as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of STD/LTD claims adjudication experience
- Knowledge of ERISA regulations, disability duration, and Social Security procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in computer applications including Excel and web-based systems
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in TPA or self-administration services
- Familiarity with FMLA/State leave claims
- Aptitude for learning medical terminology and interpreting regulations
- Ability to work independently while utilizing technical resources
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems
