JOB PURPOSE:
- Secure and analyze claim information to develop appropriate claim and disability management strategies
- Ensure prompt and accurate disability decisions and payments on all types of disability claims
- Provide responsive customer service to claimants, group offices, and agents
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Investigate and analyze claimants' information to determine eligibility for disability benefits
- Make and communicate disability approval decisions and issue correct benefits
- Develop and execute a claim and disability management strategy for each claim
- Respond to complex claim and account inquiries from various parties
- Approve claim decisions, disability management strategies, and payments recommended by less-seasoned staff
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION REQUIREMENTS:
- Provide appropriate and timely disability, claim, and account management and administration
- Recognize, understand, and respond to complex claim and account inquiries
- Negotiate fair and reasonable settlements
- Identify and respond to potentially fraudulent activity and/or litigation
- Understand and interpret claim evaluation material, including contract language, medical records, financial records, and legal correspondence
QUALIFICATIONS:
- HS Diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years of experience in IDI disability claims
SALARY RANGE:
$71,000.00 - $104,000.00
