      Position Summary:

      This position is responsible for removal of tractor parts and components preparing them for resale or salvage.

      Level of Authority:

      This position performs routine duties independently in accordance with established policies and procedures.

      Work Environment:

      Most of the work is performed in an industrial, non-climate controlled environment. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work area is normally moderate, but may occasionally exceed moderate levels. This position is required to wear appropriate PPE including appropriate hearing protection when working in the teardown area. Safety shoes and Hearing Conservation program participation is required.

      Essential Job Responsibilities:

      • Responsible for the disassembly of tractors and various sub units without damaging units.
      • Ability to disassemble different makes and models of tractors.
      • Ability to inspect used parts to determine if the part meets standards for resale.
      • Must mark and label all parts leaving the area with make and model numbers.
      • Insures upkeep and proper use of all equipment, and checks that necessary equipment is on hand.
      • Follows and enforces all safety rules and regulations; keeps work environment clean and free of hazards.
      • Follows all departmental procedures and policies. Recommends changes to procedures for Supervisor approval.

      Qualifications and Capabilities:

      Technical

      • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
      • Prior mechanical or similar experience.
      • Knowledge of, or familiar with ag equipment.
      • Must have a basic tool set consisting of standard and metric tools.
      • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
      • Must be at least 18 years of age.

      Physical

      • Ability to frequently lift, carry, bend, stoop and/or reach. Ability to occasionally exert 100 pounds of force and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently (Level 5 Very Heavy Work).
      • Ability to stand or walk as needed to access parts and inner workings of large agricultural equipment.
      • Ability to see details at close range.
      • Finger, hand, and wrist dexterity sufficient to manipulate hand tools and powered equipment.
      • Required baseline hearing assessment upon hire and annually thereafter.

      Other

      • Effective communication/comprehension skills-verbal and written.
      • Self-motivated and goal oriented.
      • Able to work alone or with minimal supervision.
      • Ability to exhibit good judgment and adaptable to different situations.
      • Must be punctual-in work area ready to work on time.
      • Confidentiality.

      Use of Tools:

      • Standard use of office equipment. Ability to use powered equipment and hand tools; including hoist or lift equipment.
