RADR’s mission is to build organizational capacity for outbreak response, establish and expand the workforce, improve training and skills, and promote health equity. The RADR DIS Fellowship aims to build capacity to respond to public health emergencies, such as COVID-19, by training and providing a workforce pathway for early-career public health professionals from all areas and communities across the state. The San Francisco Department of Public Health is dedicated to supporting the next generation of public health professionals through the RADR DIS Fellowship.

      • Ensure a well-trained public health workforce across California that can effectively and efficiently respond to public health issues to ensure the health and safety of the population

RADR DIS fellows are entry-level public health professionals who receive training and/or field experience at the individual and community level. RADR DIS fellows will have the opportunity to gain disease intervention specialist (DIS) immersion experiences in TB. The fellow will work as an integrated member of their host team. Throughout their fellowship, fellows will work with a mentor and have peer support to ensure they are successful in their role.
