      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Conduct case investigations for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV, including client interviews and laboratory result interpretation
      - Provide confidential counseling and referrals for testing and additional services to clients and their contacts
      - Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure adherence to testing and treatment protocols
      - Engage in community outreach and education to promote public health and prevent infections
      - Maintain accurate documentation and data entry for disease tracking and case management

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in counseling or health outreach
      - Must obtain Washington State Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist certification within the first year of hire
      - Knowledge of infectious disease control, prevention, and public health principles
      - Ability to communicate effectively, work independently and as part of a team, and relate to diverse populations
      - Must successfully pass a criminal history background check

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Oral and written fluency in both English and the language of the community being served
      - Experience in case investigations or community health work
      - Familiarity with harm reduction principles and practices
      - Certification as a Disease Intervention Specialist within 12 months of hire
      - Experience conducting community outreach and education initiatives
