- Maintain and update the Dock Door Status Spreadsheet in real-time based on trailer drops, picks, and schedules.
- Dispatch move instructions and door assignments to the Yard Driver(s) based on trailer availability, appointment times, and operational priorities.
- Maximize door turns by reducing the time a dock door sits empty between loads.
- Perform yard checks multiple times per shift to confirm trailer locations, validate spreadsheet data, and maintain real-time yard visibility.
- Monitor inbound and outbound schedules to anticipate door and trailer needs.
- Communicate regularly with warehouse operations, transportation, and drivers to coordinate trailer movements.
- Identify inefficiencies or delays and take proactive steps to resolve them quickly.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of yard and dock processes to support business objectives.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of trailer moves, arrivals, and departures.
- Follow and enforce all site safety rules and protocols during yard operations.
- Increase dock door utilization (turns per day).
- Minimize trailer dwell time at dock doors.
- Ensure accurate and current yard inventory at all times.
Dispatch Coordinator
Tulsa, OK
The Yard & Dock Coordinator is a pivotal role responsible for managing real-time yard and dock operations to ensure optimal trailer movement, efficient door utilization, and minimal dwell times. This position blends yard accounting, dock door management, and driver dispatch coordination, requiring robust planning, communication, and multitasking skills. It is a hands-on role, active in the yard and dock area throughout the shift, not confined to an office setting.
Responsibilities
Shift : Monday to Friday, 6am to 3pm
Pay: $20 - $25
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
