Short Description
Nucor Towers and Structures (NTS) is a new entity within Nucor, the largest recycler and largest manufacturer of steel and steel products in North America, focused on the execution of our strategy to “Expand Beyond” our core business. As a part of Nucor’s New Markets product group, NTS is focused on the exciting growth potential in the power distribution market. Current production facility is in Decatur, AL, with plans to build a national footprint.
Basic Job Functions:
Seeking a creative, forward-thinking, process-minded effective communicator to join our team. The Dispatcher will be responsible for refining processes and procedures to support Transportation development as well as reporting and analysis. The position will require coordination of deliveries to meet customer requirements. This position will serve as the Decatur business unit subject matter expert for the implementation of a new ERP, support the ongoing maximization of ERP functionality, take on ad-hoc reporting and analysis projects, and serve as a strategic Transportation support for our business. The position will ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations as well as company guidelines regarding the dispatching and scheduling of transportation needs for inbound and outbound loads. The candidate must be well organized and able to work both independently and as a team. Candidate must be able to collaborate with other teammates and leaders to prioritize load builds, load forecasting by day-week-month, load tracking, section tracking, small parts tracking & POD reconciliation. Must be capable of managing multiple projects at once. Strong communication skills are needed to lead and develop carrier relationships to execute the site plan. This position would report directly to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor. This position will be located in our Decatur, AL facility but may require travel to other production facilities on an as-needed basis.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Effective communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills

5. Computer knowledge/skills
6. Commitment to safety, actively involved in their division’s safety initiatives

1. Experience with load forecast planning & management
2. Experience with finished goods inventory control
3. Experience in shop floor planning & scheduling
4. Experience in logistics management & tracking
5. Experience with process documentation and process improvement
6. Basic Understanding of how to impact profitability through transportation planning
7. Experience working in a greenfield environment
8. Experience working in operations
