      Overview

      Qualified applicant possesing a CDL license with passenger endorsement will perform dispatching activities related to the transportation activities of Capital Health PACE. Maintains the schedule and communication with drivers, supervisor or manager, and maintenance personnel. Reroutes the bus routes and driver assignments as needed to meet door-to-door transportation needs of the Capital Health PACE programs participants.

      Responsibilities

      • Ensures safe and timely transportation of Capital Health PACE program participants and performs dispatching activities to the department.
      • Oversees daily transportation operations, scheduling, and communication with the drivers, transportation coordinator, center manager, and scheduler.
      • Organizes and schedules daily delivery of home delivered meals, durable medical equipment, supplies, and needs from the pharmacy.
      • Assists department leader in organizing the scheduling of regular routes, participant off-site appointments, and trips.
      • Distributes in a timely manner to the center the following day work schedules for each driver.
      • Reroutes busses and driver assignments to meet the door-to-door transportation needs of the participants.
      • Informs the department leader immediately of any delays in the schedule or unusual occurrences.
      • Participates in and supports quality improvement initiatives.
      • Acts as a backup driver if needed and maintain the transportation software program.
      • Performs other duties as assigned

      Requirements

      • High school diploma or GED. Associate's degree preferred. CDL License with passenger endorsement required.
      • One year of dispatching experience. Previous healthcare experience preferred.
      • Excellent customer service skills. Possesses a friendly demeanor.
      • Excellent computer skills
      • Works well under pressure. Can perform multiple duties at once.

      Physical Demands and Work Environment:

      • Frequent physical demands include: Sitting , Wrist position deviation , Pinching/fine motor activities , Keyboard use/repetitive motion
      • Occasional physical demands include: Standing , Walking , Reaching forward

      Continuous physical demands include:

      • Lifting Floor to Waist 10 lbs. Lifting Waist Level and Above 10 lbs.
      • Sensory Requirements include: Accurate Near Vision, Accurate Far Vision, Accurate Color Discrimination, Accurate Depth Perception, Accurate Hearing
      • Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks Include the following: Bloodborne Pathogens , Chemical , Airborne Communicable Disease , Extreme Temperatures , Radiation , Uneven Surfaces or Elevations , Extreme Noise Levels , Dust/Particulate Matter
