Job Description

- Directly supervise assigned drivers to include adherence to company policy, performance counseling, and reviews.
- Daily communication with drivers that includes dispatching, tracking and tracing loads, and pre-plans to ensure driver receives and understands vital information.
- Heavy daily interaction with drivers. Will be the liaisons between drivers and management to ensure that expectations are being met with respect to both service and cost.
- Utilize in cab telematics tools to manage the operation through driver performance monitoring, and trip reporting functions along with any other potential issues.
- Manage drivers DOT compliance, to include CDL & medical card expirations, random drug screen coordination, and quarterly safety training.
- Manage driver’s layover and detention times maintain status of equipment that’s being serviced by maintenance personnel.
- Enter service failures daily and manage driver’s ability for on-time delivery.
- Respond to any driver’s payroll/settlement questions.
- Manage driver’s miles.
- Appropriately match loads to drivers, which will satisfy both customer and driver needs while ensuring freight is delivered and picked up in a safe and timely manner.
- Manage fleet turnover to maintain a satisfactory retention ratio.
- Manage revenue per truck.
- Maintain fleet awareness for driver safety report.
- Manage and track driver time off to ensure drivers are freed off the truck in the system and maintain high accountability for driver home time success.
- An associate degree in a business related or communication field preferred. Previous dispatch work experience in the trucking industry may be substituted for education.
- Two (2) years of dispatch experience preferred.
- Previous trucking experience is a plus
- Good Phone and communication skills
- Computer literacy is required.
- Must be detail oriented and good with following-up on unfinished tasks
- Basic personal computer or host terminal skills required
- Strong organizational skills required

KLLM Transport in Jackson, MS, is looking for a Dispatcher for our First Shift Monday through Friday. Pay Depending on Experience, but could be estimated up to or around $20/hour.
Primary Function: Responsible for ensuring that the customers' transportation needs are met in the most cost-effective and efficient way.
