Job Description

- Dispensing medicines and collecting prescription charges.
- Maintaining stock levels within the dispensary, liaising with the dispensing manager to facilitate reordering.
- Receiving and storing supplies, ensuring the cold chain is maintained where applicable.
- Ensuring controlled drugs are dispensed in accordance with practice policy.
- Safely disposing of returned and/or out of date medicines.
- Ensuring all repeat prescriptions are processed within a 72-hour timeframe.
- Providing patients with advice regarding all prescription matters.
- Always maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- At least a Diploma Level 2/3 Dispensary or equivalent Pharmacy Services qualification;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A clear and polite telephone manner
- Respectful of patient confidentiality
- Ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously.
- Previous experience of working within a dispensary is desirable but not essential.
- At least a Diploma Level 2/3 Dispensary or equivalent Pharmacy Services qualification;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job summary
Ongar Health Centre are looking to welcome a dispenser into our busy practice, who will play a full and active role as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team. The role can be offered on a full or part-time basis and hours and days can be discussed at interview.
