      Mission/Role

      This role will lead and drive the distribution center operations to support global customer order fulfillment for all channels of the Cole Haan business. Distribution center operations includes: Shipping, Receiving, Picking, Packing, VAS, Stocking and Replenishment.

      Core Accountabilities

      Operations

      • Strong understanding of day to day functions of the Distribution Center, to include Picking, Packing, VAS, Shipping, Planning and Receiving processes.
      • Ensures the smooth operations of product movement within the Distribution Center.
      • Coordinates and supervises cross functional teams, to include Picking, Shipping and Receiving/Replenishment, ensuring all planned daily work tasks are completed for day end.
      • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion, coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
      • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager.
      • Applies management skills to improve efficiency and accomplish operational objectives within own unit.
      • Identifies and resolves day-to-day technical and operational problems.
      • Monitor daily workload planning tools to assign staff; communicate end of day results.
      • Ability to drive all DC machinery, fork truck, order picker, reach truck and yard truck.

      Deliver Results

      • Manage business and make decisions guided by policies, procedures and own business plan that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of own unit and other units with interrelated processes.
      • Performs work in support of brand plans; demonstrates link between daily work and company mission; participates in initiatives, program or products with low visibility.
      • Sets priorities for employees to meet daily deadlines; develops plans to meet short-term objectives.
      • Works within budgetary/financial objectives set by manager.

      Manage the Team

      • Supervise a workforce of up to 35 employees. Plan the work of employees with a daily or short-term focus. Supervises employees and sets individual goals. Coach staff, support development and provides significant input into hiring decisions, performance management recognition and rewards.
      • Provide the tools and training to ensure employee success. Coach and counsel employees on daily and weekly performance. Ensure that employees are meeting production, quality and service expectations. Conduct Method and procedure audits and employee follow- ups
      • Daily review to ensure employees are clocking correctly and completely. Maintain attendance records.
      • Administer corrective action as required. Promote an environment of open communication. Listen and respond to employee issues and concerns.
      • Communicate Company policy procedures and ensure consistent application of policies.
      • Communicate daily goals and objectives, assign work, and coordinate distribution of employees and other resources. Monitor and follow up on timely task completion and work- flow to ensure hourly objectives are met. Identify any potential barriers that may prevent the team from meeting objectives. Proactively communicate to manager and peers on status of work- flow throughout the day and ensure successful daily handoff between shifts is conducted.
      • Work with peers in other areas to ensure the success of the entire facility and support cross training plans.

      This position is not available to be performed in Colorado

      Requirements

      4+ years Customer Service/Logistics/Operational experience. An ability to build, coach and monitor a team.

      Proven leadership and team management skills.

      Understanding of customer service values and behaviors. Verbal and written communication skills.

      Computer skills: MS Word, Windows, Excel, Power Point.

      College degree/certifications, University level in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or Economics is preferred

      May be required to perform a wide variety of physical tasks which are generally basic, repetitive, and routine in nature. May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time, in addition to being required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, or pull. May be frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel small and medium sized components while operating machinery and exerting force or lift up to 50 pounds.

      May be called upon to perform physical and quality checks requiring sufficient visual acuity to identify quality flaws and distinguish colors on small components.
