      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Prepare construction documents for electric distribution, fiber optic, and telecommunications facilities
      - Assist with distribution line design
      - Prepare make-ready work for joint use projects
      - Assist in the preparation of proposals, engineering/project cost estimates, and execution schedules
      - Provide field support during construction
      - Adhere to quality assurance/quality control process
      - Analyze field data and update software packages for design implementation
      - Utilize proprietary software packages for engineering design workflow process
      - Regularly communicate with clients to determine the most cost-effective solution for their project
      - Provide documentation and support to accounting functions for project budgeting and tracking
      - Perform field inspections and data collection
      - Attend meetings at clients' sites and interact with the general public
      - Endure physical demands such as driving, standing, walking, navigating, and balancing objects in various terrain and weather conditions
      - Occasionally enter energized extra-high voltage substations
      - Work remotely/office-based, with occasional fieldwork and travel as required

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Reside in Minnesota, preferably in the greater Minneapolis to northern Minnesota area
      - High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant experience or Associate degree in related field with 2-4 years of experience
      - Knowledge of utility distribution design and construction standards
      - Proficiency in design software packages such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS, and Excel
      - Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work on multiple projects
      - Effective written and oral communication skills
      - Problem-solving abilities
      - Dependable transportation and valid driver's license with insurance
      - Ability to pass a fit for duty test
      - Ability to work from home and an office setting as required

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, GIS, drafting, or related field with 0-2 years of experience
      - Prior utility design experience or distribution line work
      - Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/schematics
      - Knowledge of electrical distribution assets and/or communication equipment construction
      - Experience in pole loading or other construction modeling software
      - Familiarity with industry utility or joint-use software for engineering and construction
      - Knowledge of design and checking practices for engineering drawings and deliverables
      - Familiarity with safe work practices and PPE applications
