Improving service levels and costs for distribution center operations.
Implementing productivity, quality, and service standards. Resolving problems and identifying areas for improvements. Contributing performance data to strategic plans and reviews.
Must have strong organizational / planning skills and ability to effectively prioritize tasks to provide maximum benefit from available resources. The overall goal is to ensure efficient material movements with a “Safety First” mind set while maintaining a high level of quality and productivity. Adhering to requirements and procedures for safety regulations.
Knowledge and experience deploying continuous improvement tools such as 5S, KanBan , Six Sigma, and Lean by improving material delivery methods and increasing manpower efficiencies
Contributing to the overall team productivity by taking ownership of the process and performing assigned tasks, normally performed by subordinates. (ex: filling orders, packing orders, or storing receipts, etc.)
Demonstrated skills in personal leadership, teambuilding, effective communication, and people development
Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and ability to develop and analyze reports is required
Operational Functions: Assesses situations based on awareness of the goals and operating issues of own department. Seeks guidance when assigned goals conflict with departmental goals or overall strategy. Carries out responsibilities that contribute to role of own department within the organization.
Coaching Others: Knowledge of coaching and mentoring concepts and methods; ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals in learning and improving effectiveness.
Customer Service Management: Knowledge of customer service priorities and ability to utilize tools and techniques for maintaining an environment where all understand and are committed to providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there. Demonstrates leadership qualities: intelligence, dominance, persistence, integrity, confidence.
Materials Handling and Management: Knowledge of material handling and management in plants; ability to perform, monitor and improve processes related to storage, transportation and handling of raw and hazardous materials.
Problem Management Process: Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.
Warehouse and Distribution Center Management: Knowledge of the policies, processes and systems of warehouse management; ability to effectively manage one or more warehouses or distribution centers .

Summary Pay Range:
$67,536.00 - $101,292.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
