Manage the daily work and safety of team Leads, Load Planners, Order Selectors, and Forklift Operators within e-Commerce operations and ensure fulfillment levels meet or exceed warehouse KPIs; Supervise team performance issues or any other issues requiring improvement
Oversee e-commerce operations, working in collaboration with Sales Operations, Procurement, e-Commerce Fulfillment, Alameda Operations, & Tracy DC Operations to meet daily and weekly demand
Embed continuous improvement within the e-Commerce Fulfillment team and drive for Operational Excellence using stretch goals and key performance indicators (KPI) to monitor progress
Coordinate efforts with Safety Team to aid in training, conducting associate safety behavior observations, updating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root cause, and conducting routine safety inspections; Make recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required
Proactively minimize risk to team members to reduce frequency and rate of injury; Report and investigate all safety hazards, near-misses, and other incidents thoroughly
Perform duties related to hiring/staff selection, training of new associates, development/cross-training of associates, discipline, performance reviews, and/or termination
Maintain positive associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings; Maintain ongoing interaction; keep open communication channels with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures; monitor associate morale and submit ideas/act on ideas to improve associate survey responses (i.e. work environment ratings)
Utilize the interpersonal skills necessary to effectively lead and gain involvement of team members and ensure individual and team levels of performance exceeding goals and expectations
In conjunction with the Director of Distribution, develop and maintain succession plans for all areas of responsibility to ensure sustainable performance for future years
Supervise shift labor hours, resources, and consumable supplies accurately and effectively using company tools (rosters, daily planners, electronic systems); Prepare work schedules, including extra workdays and shifts, as appropriate
Manage all expenses – including Labor cost KPIs - in line with budget
Supervise the proper utilization of Company assets in support of the warehouse; coordinate required repairs with appropriate departments, as needed. Maintain allocated assets
Review warehouse functions daily; maintain various warehouse productivity reporting; Suggest ideas to promote efficiency, cost reduction, etc. and assist with the implementation of changes within the warehouse.
Leverage JDE Peet’s Manufacturing Operating System Tools to eliminate Losses to root cause.
Participate in a Manufacturing Operating System Pillar and qualify in execution of loss elimination tools
Prepare and present KPI reports with relevant commentary to Director of Distribution
Interpret, train others in, and consistently enforce all required Company policies and procedures
Conduct daily audits of e-commerce program area(s), ensuring all housekeeping, safety, and equipment protocols are followed, including HAACP, food safety, and inventory protocols. Ensure inventory stored in e-commerce program area(s) is correctly inventoried and stored.
Assist with monitoring sanitation and facility/racking damage to ensure a safe and clean warehouse
Comply with all required local, state, and federal regulatory agency standards (i.e. OSHA, AIB, FDA, USDA, etc).
Clearly outline end-of-day activities and prepare program area(s) for the transition to night operations; communicate all pertinent information to following shift
Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in Logistics / Distribution pick-pack environments, or 3-5 years of experience in e-commerce Logistics / Distribution FMCG or Retail industry
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Experience within a Drop/Ship operation with multiple e-Commerce Customers (i.e. Amazon.com, Wal-Mart.com, Costco.com, etc.) preferred.
Professional qualifications in logistics and/or management desirable
Leadership and team building skills, including effective communication, engagement, performance review, setting clear expectations, delivering feedback and inspiring results
Strategic and lateral thinker, capable of planning for current and future needs/requirements
Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Capable of teaching and generating results while enhancing the work environment
Able to successfully engage and lead individual and team discussions and meetings
Capable of working with peers and associates from other departments and shifts in a proactive and constructive manner
Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledgeable in continuous improvement methodologies (i.e. lean, six-sigma); green or black belt certified a plus; Experience in Issue Resolution and Incident Investigation
· Self-motivated and goal-oriented; able to work effectively under pressure with high-energy, and proactive style; brings well developed sense of urgency to all Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required; Experience using warehouse management systems (D365 preferable) is highly desirable
Due to the changing operational demands and seasonal peaks of a retail business, there may be a need for you to work outside of standard operating hours, which may include work on weekends and public holidays
Ability to apply all relevant policies in a consistent, timely, and objective manner
Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 30 pounds at a time
Must be physically capable of sitting for long periods of time in an open and creative office environment
Must be physically capable of walking and standing for long periods on surfaces not necessarily friendly to the legs and back

The Distribution Supervisor, DTC (Direct-To-Consumer) is accountable for the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of high-quality logistics services for their channel including, but not limited to the supervision of order planning, replenishment, order processing/building, staging, and shipping activities. The Supervisor is a tactical, forward planning, open-minded thinker who continuously works to develop and improve channel operations by striving to deliver best-practice management of people and warehousing solutions. Reporting to the Director of Distribution, this role will supervise e-commerce operations from the Peet’s Alameda Roasting Plant. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

The target hourly base salary range for this position is $35-38.
