DISTRICT CHEMICAL SAFETY OFFICER
Position Available for the 2025-2026 School Year

REPORTS TO:Superintendent of Schools or designee
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must possess BA/BS Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or thirty (30) hours of hazardous materials training from an accredited institution;
• Knowledge of current Right-to-Know laws, rules, and regulations;
• Certification preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Chemical Safety Officer will strive to enable compliance with the current Right-to-Know laws, rules, and regulations. The Chemical Safety Officer will be knowledgeable in: appropriate storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials, management of Material Safety Data Sheets, and remediation of chemical spills. The Chemical Safety Officer will check and advise on condition of safety equipment, and coordinate "Right-to-Know" safety training.
REMUNERATION:
Salary will be in accordance with the current KEA contract.
