      General Motors has direct-hire opportunities to train professionally in a combination of remote, field, dealership, and virtual settings with the nationally recognized District Manager in Training Program (DMIT).

      The Program:

      This 4.5-month training program equips employees with the foundational tools and fundamental skills needed to build a career as a District Sales Manager within General Motors as well as prepare trainees for success as key representatives of the company, products, and services.

      This means being present and engaging in various initiatives including developing and implementing marketing initiatives, customer retention, product displays, financial analysis, and training. A day in the life in the program is amazingly fast paced, and no two days will be the same. To succeed in this role, candidates must have a passion to connect and influence people, be agile, and manage time properly.

      After the Program:

      Upon successful completion of the training program, employees will transition to a full-time District Sales Manager role with responsibilities to manage and engage our dealers by visiting and working with them directly.

      District Sales Managers act as consultants to the dealerships by working together to develop and implement their business plans. As a key representative, District Sales Managers also work closely with the dealers to ensure that our customers have the best customer experience from the time of purchase through the life cycle of their vehicle.

      This is a remote role assigned to a region for training and placement purposes. Trainees do not have to physically reside in the region throughout the training period.

      District Manager in Training opportunities are available in the following regions:

      North Central Region (Naperville, IL)

      Southeast Region (Alpharetta, GA)

      South Central Region (Irving, TX)

      North Central Region (Danbury, CT)

      Western Region (West Lake Village, CA)

      Program Responsibilities:

      • Gain understanding of District Sales Manager role through participation and engagement in development and training activities to become a successful liaison between GM, its dealerships, and various GM Partners.
      • Properly utilizing training tools, participating in drills and ad-hoc presentations
      • Engaging in mentorship opportunities as well as demonstrate understanding of process
      • Establish, grow, and foster relationships through partnership
      • Balance competing priorities while maintaining effectiveness in a dynamic, often chaotic environment
      • Gain understanding of GM requirements, compliance, and objectives to lead in tasks such as:
      • Dealership inventory management, including vehicle and or parts ordering and inventory stabilizing
      • Analyze Dealer sales, local market, and competition to identify revenue opportunities
      • Increase sales of GM vehicles and Accessory parts to its customers
      • Assist in customer problem resolution

      Additional Job Description

      Program Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's Degree; OR In lieu of degree: High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND two years of automotive experience in Sales, Service, Marketing or related areas
      • Possess current driver’s license and ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
      • Willing to be 100% mobile now and in the future
      • Domestic travel 80+% of the time to multiple locations including regional offices, training sites, dealerships, mentorship locations, and program approved events
      • Willing to relocate anywhere within the United States upon successful completion of training program
      • Ability to deal with ambiguity and exhibit a ‘Winning with Integrity’ attitude
      • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced communication and presentation skills
      • Utilize excellent time management skills and possess a coachable mindset
      • Maintain excellent Business Acumen

      Compensation:

      • The base compensation for this role is $80,000 per year.
      • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
      • Work related vehicle is provided
