    • Familiarity with current State Code as it pertains to Mentoring Programs
    • Previous service as a teacher mentor
    • Assist in on-going revision of the district mentor training.
    • Participate in appropriate meetings and new staff orientation during the year to monitor program compliance and effectiveness and maintain communication with program participants.
    • Provide the Director of Curriculum & Instruction and/or Assistant Superintendent with Mentor Program recommendations, if any, for program modifications.
    • Maintain a knowledge of current legislation and/or code changes which may affect the district mentor program and assure that such information is communicated, where and when appropriate, to the Director of Curriculum & Instruction and/or Assistant Superintendent.
    • Assist in the preparation and submission of the District Mentor Plan as required by NJAC 6:11-14.5.
    • Assists the Director of Curriculum & Instruction and/or Assistant Superintendent with other assignments as deemed necessary.

      DISTRICT MENTORING COORDINATOR

      Director of Curriculum & Instruction and/or Assistant Superintendent

      QUALIFICATIONS:
      • Teaching certificate issued by the State of New Jersey
      • Tenured employee of the Kearny Board of Education
      • Familiarity with current State Code as it pertains to Mentoring Programs
      • Previous service as a teacher mentor
      RESPONSIBILITIES:
      The District Mentor Coordinator will share responsibility for monitoring the mentor relationships during the year and providing evaluation and modification as needed. The District Mentor Coordinator will also function as liaison between program participants, administration and relevant district committees. The District Mentoring Coordinator will:
      • Assist in on-going revision of the district mentor training.
      • Participate in appropriate meetings and new staff orientation during the year to monitor program compliance and effectiveness and maintain communication with program participants.
      • Provide the Director of Curriculum & Instruction and/or Assistant Superintendent with Mentor Program recommendations, if any, for program modifications.

      REMUNERATION :
      Salary will be in accordance with the current KEA contract.
