  The role:

  • Within a Primary Health Care framework and in accordance with Agency and Organisational policies and legal requirements the Diversional Therapy Assistant will provide support for, and assist, the Adult Day Centre (ADC) Coordinator/Diversional Therapist by undertaking a range of duties involved with planning and implementing individual client care, activities and group programs.

  The Central Coast Adult Day Centre:

  • Work in a small team and enjoy multi-tasking
  • Client centred care focus and activity planning
  • Permanent role with ongoing training and development

  This position is based at the Central Coast Adult Day Centre in Ulverstone. Please note that a medium rigid licence is not an essential requirement so please feel free to apply if you think you have what it takes to work in the leisure and lifestyle area.

  Experience working with aged and/or disabled people would be well regarded.

  Details of Appointment

  Permanent, part time, day worker position working 5 hours per fortnight, commencing from 29 April 2024

  *notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

  Salary: $65,236 to $68,925 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

  Eligibility:

  Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle.

  2. Current First Aid Certificate.

  3. Medium Rigid (MR) class Licence and Ancillary Certificate (for driving Public Passenger vehicles).

  4. Current Driver’s Licence.

  Position Features:

  Central Coast Adult Day Centre, Water Street, Ulverstone; and/or Latrobe Adult Day Centre, Hamilton Street, Latrobe; and/or Wynyard Adult Day Centre, Little Goldie Street, Wynyard.

  The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  2. sex related offences
  3. serious drug offences
