      How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:


      The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Consultant will assist in the identification, development, and implementation of DE&I processes and programs that support the organization's goals for DE&I.

      • Interacts with all level leaders and community partners, offering DE&I resources and effectively communicating to build relationships and credibility.
      • Supports the implementation and management of DE&I programs, processes, guidelines, tools and instruments that support Carilion Clinic's DE&I strategy. Recognize opportunities to align DE&I approaches across the organization. .
      • Work collaboratively with the Human Resources team in developing and implementing DE&I initiatives, support and manage Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) education and initiatives.
      • Partner with Human Resources to continuously monitor and improve DE&I measures and programs.
      • Provides input to the Talent Acquisition team to enhance the diversity of applicants.
      • Collaborates with Community Health to identify disparities and inequities in public and population health.
      • Works with Marketing and Communications to help build brand internally and externally so that Carilion Clinic is a recognized leader in the area of DE&I.
      • Is a liaison with Marketing and Communications and Community Health to assist with community and employee events and sponsorships.
      • Maintains the DE&I hub and creates toolkits for ERGs, leaders, and employees.
      • Monitors external diversity best practices and makes recommendations for new initiatives.
      • Consistently delivers the best in customer service. As a team member, demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with patients, families, visitors, and employees.
      • Champions Carilion's mission, vision, and values; complies with the policies and procedures, ethical standards and code of conduct set forth by the company.

      What We Require:


      Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

      Experience: Minimum of two year's experience in DE&I, population/public health, and project management experience.

      Other Minimum Qualifications: Must possess excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills, including presentation skills. Demonstrated analytical thinking and interpersonal skills. Must work well in a team environment and have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to work on multiple tasks/projects while meeting deadlines and being flexible in an environment of changing priorities. Ability to analyze policies and procedures from the perspective of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in population/public health. Prior data collection and analysis experience. Project management skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality. Must be able to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization, mindful of the culture and diversity of the audience. Have a passion for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
