  The Division 37 Supervisor role reports directly to the Division Manager. Project Managers will be reporting to this Division Supervisor. The Division Supervisor will oversee the Southern California Edison contract in Visalia, Mammoth Lakes, Kernville, and Bishop, California. The ideal candidate will reside in or around the Visalia, California area.

  This position will assist in the supervision of all aspects and customers in the division and outside as Wright Tree Service of the West needs dictate. This role is vital to the success of Wright Tree Service of the West, its customers, and its employees. The expectations are to execute management practices at a high level to help increase our footprint on current contracts and to locate and secure new customers.

  Salary: $140,000-$150,000

  Responsibilities :

  • Uphold the values of WTSW, which include safety, integrity, quality, teamwork, innovation, and family
  • Assist with meeting financial goals by planning for effective use of manpower, work methods, proper amount of trimming, and operation of equipment.
  • Train and coach employees. Evaluate performance and provide feedback as necessary.
  • Responsible for the proper administration, communication, and enforcement of supervisory and economic work practices with field employees.
  • Promote sound relations with employees on all personnel matters and exercise fair and reasonable judgment in management of employee conflicts while working with Human Resources.
  • Assign work to individual crew members and supervise crew in carrying out work according to good tree clearance practices. Must be capable of adjusting to field requirements.
  • Remain in contact with customers, property owners, general public, other contractors, and representatives of utilities and governmental agencies. Must be professional and courteous when communicating on behalf of Wright Tree Service of the West.
  • Develop and supervise safety initiatives and programs
  • Hold regular current customer meetings and maintain open lines of communication
  • Actively locate new potential clients, prepare bids, and execute start-up operations of new contracts
  • Assist in training and mentoring at all levels as needed (Field, General Forepersons, and Project Mangers)
  • Advise and assist in steering the division in the direction to meet and reflect company Vision, Mission, and Values
  • Assist the Division Manager in maintaining positive morale in the division and including the management team.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

  Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in utility vegetation management or related field
  • Obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification
  • Extensive travel within and outside of the division is common including overnight stays
  • ISA Certification required
  • Valid CDL & Med Card required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - bilingual preferred
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring abilities
  • Self-starter, demonstrating initiative
  • Focused on Time Management/Timely completion of task
