      JOB SUMMARY:
      This position is responsible for oversight and direction of the residential construction activities, materials management, and scope of work adherence. Will oversee field construction operations, commercial projects, and semi-custom programs and may also oversee customer service functions.

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Take a leadership role in hiring, training, developing, and mentoring construction department employees.
      • Designs, implements, and supports programs that will ensure the highest quality product is achieved while meeting and/or exceeding target financial goals.
      • Acts as a construction liaison to other functions and divisions within the Company, the community, and construction/development industry groups.
      • Ensure community compliance adherence with all local, State, and Federal jurisdictions; including, OSHA and SWPP.
      • Participates in strategic and tactical planning on the departmental and community level
      • Collaborates with other internal departments (i.e. sales, marketing, land) on annual plan projections and other corporate initiatives
      • Partners with local procurement leadership to oversee the estimated job cost projection, general bid, pricing update, contracts, and purchase order processes as directed by company policy and management direction.
      • Prepares, and/or manages and operates within approved budgets established for all departments under Construction Operations. Monitors and protects company assets.
      • Accountable for the completion of construction projects on time, within budget, and within quality standards, to meet business performance expectations.

      MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

      With Direct Reports

      • Ensures appropriate staffing to meet department needs.
      • Utilizes recruiting and selection tools/processes to build organizational talent.
      • Delegates work according to employees’ abilities and skills.
      • Evaluates employee performance and plan for compensation actions in accordance with that performance.
      • Provides developmental opportunities through the identification of internal and external training opportunities.
      • Develops proper department organization balancing team members' capabilities while creating opportunities for employee growth.
      • Provides continuous coaching regarding functional and leadership standards (technical skills and behaviors).

      REQUIRED EDUCATION:

      • Minimum Bachelors Degree in Business or Equivalent
      • Valid Driver’s License

      REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

      • Minimum 5 to 7 years of previous experience in Construction and/or Construction Management
      • Previous leadership role in managing construction/homebuilding project managers preferred.

      COMPENSATION RANGE

      • $150,000 - $190,000 per year
      • Hired applicant with be eligible to receive bonuses
