      Vice President of Operations - Houston

      DaVita is dynamic, growing and entrepreneurial (recently named one of Fortune magazine’s Most Innovative Companies). We are looking for an ambitious, experienced healthcare executive to guide the operations of our dialysis services based out of Houston.

      We are currently seeking a Vice President of Operations (DVP) to manage a team of 8 direct reports (5 regional operations director, 1 Home Divisional Director, 1 Executive Assistant, 1 Director Special Projects), 60 clinics and approximate revenues of $250M. This leader will oversee a territory covering the Houston Market. This Division, Star Wranglers, is part of a larger region: Galaxy.

      The Vice President of Operations (DVP) provides strategic, tactical and team leadership, counsel and direction to the field management of DaVita to ensure safe, efficient, therapeutic and ethical patient care. Additionally, this position identifies and develops strategic growth opportunities, leads division performance, and works closely with the Group Vice President of Operations and business development team to develop competitive strategies in alignment with DaVita’s mission and values.

      We're looking for an exceptional leader with a strong ownership mindset to consistently and proactively seek ways to improve the business and the ability to operationalize new ideas and insights. The Vice President of Operations (DVP) will engage at all levels of the enterprise and, specifically, will be a key thought partner and work closely with the Group Vice President of Operations as well as Finance, Strategy, People Services and Business Development teams.

      The Role:

      As the Vice President of Operations (DVP), you will drive all aspects of the business: culture, team development, clinical outcomes, P&L management, growth and ongoing business development. You will lead a growing, socially responsible business that strives to be the role model for American Healthcare. You will join a team of highly motivated individuals that engage with their head, heart, and hands to better serve the people of their community. At this level in our organization, our leadership ranks consist of ex-consultants, military leaders, investment bankers and hospital C-suite executives.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.

      • Complete accountability for ~45 clinics, 2000 teammates (including 8 direct reports), representing ~$250M revenue
      • Lead the development of team, from managers to direct patient care teammates. Inspire your team to join you in the quest to provide high quality patient care.
      • Develop and implement strategic initiatives that maximize clinical outcomes and growth.

      Some specific examples include:

      • Create a team powerhouse. With your team of 8 direct reports you will inspire to join you in the quest to ensure quality and compliant patient care.
      • Address top growth priorities, patient census and lead successful operational conversions on acquisitions.
      • You will be measured on key metrics and outcomes you are able to drive from the book of business you inherit.
      • Develop and execute strategic operating plans and goals for assigned division facilities.
      • Meet labor budget.
      • Review, analyze, and address gaps in service excellence, policies, and/or procedures proactively; identify issues and implement solutions.
      • Manage financial and revenue growth, operations, and labor management, contract management, and clinical outcomes within the assigned division facilities.
      • Maintain awareness and knowledge of competition; proactively assess related SWOT (division strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats).
      • Lead a growing, socially responsible business that strives to be the role model for American Healthcare.

      Qualifications:

      • Leadership of a multi-site operational business
      • Experience in healthcare required
      • Proven experience leading a large, high performing team
      • Proven experience identifying and driving growth in your business
      • Track record of successful fiscal and operating leadership; demonstrated financial expertise
      • Proven success engaging with physicians preferred
      • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred
      • Minimum of 10 years’ progressive management experience required
