Job SummaryThe Fire Protection Officer (FPO) is responsible for physically responding to fire alarms, supporting emergency operations, and ensuring fire safety compliance across the facility. This role works in close coordination with the Fire Panel Operator and emergency response teams to manage incidents, conduct inspections, and maintain readiness for drills and audits.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency Response
- Respond immediately to dispatches from the Fire Panel Operator.
- Assess alarm zones and verify the nature of the incident.
- Escalate confirmed emergencies to external fire departments as needed.
- Provide alarm zone data to responders and isolate zones when necessary (e.g., during hot work).
System Support & Maintenance
- Assist with fire panel resets after alarms or maintenance.
- Support technicians during system testing and repairs.
- Ensure fire panel labeling and zoning maps are accurate and up to date.
Routine Testing & Drills
- Participate in scheduled fire panel and system testing.
- Assist in fire drills and emergency simulations.
- Verify that alerts and indicators function correctly.
Recordkeeping
- Document response actions, times, and outcomes.
- Ensure logs are complete, accurate, and ready for audits.
Compliance & Safety
- Follow all fire codes, plant safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
- Complete required training and stay current on system updates.
- Maintain readiness for safety audits and inspections.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
- Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security
- Warn violators of premise rules and regulations
- Address persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
- Report any facility issues
- Request emergency personnel for high-risk situationsQualifications:
