What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Designing treatment plans using computer and/or manual computation
- Considering dose-limiting structures in treatment plan design
- Coordinating treatment simulations and tumor localization
- Supervising and assisting in the planning of beam modifying devices and immobilization devices
- Overseeing therapist staff in implementing treatment plans
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduate of a formerly organized hospital or affiliated medical dosimetry program with clinical and classroom curriculum and other training
- At least 18 months of experience as a medical dosimetrist or a B.A. or B.S. degree in physical or biological sciences
- Registered radiation therapy technologist
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds unassisted
- Visual acuity and good hand-eye coordination
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Advanced certifications in medical dosimetry
- Experience with intracavitary and interstitial brachytherapy procedures
- Proficiency in computer calculation of dose distributions
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of current advancements in radiation oncology technology
