What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct data quality reviews on inpatient and outpatient records to ensure accurate coding
- Provide coding quality information and reports to the Coding Manager
- Educate Medical Staff and Housestaff on proper documentation for coding
- Review hospital-specific coding guidelines and suggest updates
- Stay current on coding rules, regulations, and updates
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- RHIT or RHIA, and CCS credentials
- 4 years of coding experience with 2 years of PPS coding, DRG grouping, & APC payment experience
- 3 years of inpatient facility coding experience
- Proficiency in 3M HDM Abstracting System and 3M Codefinder/DRG finder
