- Interacting with the Sales Team, Operations and cliental to diagnose, qualify, recommend and deliver optimization solutions;
- Analyzing and diagnosing drilling inefficiencies and making parameter recommendations;
- Preparing and delivering presentations on optimization services to clients;
- Working with the Sales Team to understand client’s needs and set operational goals;
- Performing pre-well/post-well analysis, preparing end of well reports and summarizing Key Performance Indicators;
- Preparing incident reports if drilling inefficiencies lead to downhole tool failure;
- Participating in educational opportunities, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional organizations related to drilling to stay current with technology and trends;
- Knowledge to promote and apply the established Quality Management System within his/her scope of work; and,
- Promote environmental awareness and conservation of natural resources, as well as oversee proper classification and disposal of solid and dangerous wastes.

Summary
The Drilling Optimization Engineer will take a key role for drilling optimization in the Permian Basin. This position identifies inefficiencies in drilling performance, evaluates directional drilling trends, and provides technical advice primarily on drilling parameters and practices that will mitigate or correct any inefficiencies. This position will also collect and analyze data to prepare and present pre-well and post-well reports.

Education & Experience
Bachelors or advanced degree in Petroleum Engineering or related majors with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in drilling either as office-based drilling engineer or on-site drilling.
Demonstrated ability to run/work with drilling software such as, hydraulics, Torque and Drag and BHA design;
A strong awareness of the critical factors that affect performance such as rock mechanical properties, drill bits, drilling fluids, downhole drilling vibration and BHA /performance components
