Summary:

Chicago Tribune, a subsidiary of Tribune publishing, is seeking a Driver to join our team for distribution!

What you will do:

• Responsible for efficient and accurate delivery of the newspaper and supplements in the market

• Drive a tractor trailer truck (Requiring a class "A" CDL)

• Makes delivery of freight and magazines when needed

• Break down and sort freight, film and magazines for shipping to customer distribution centers

• Responsible for efficient and accurate delivery of the newspaper and supplements in the market

• Break down and sort magazines, film and supplies as needed to ship to various statewide customer distribution centers

• Check newspaper, supplements and magazine bundles for accurate count on truck loads

• Respond to customer inquiries

• Practices defensive driving skills and maintains a safe-driving record

What you will bring:

• Ability to work with a variety of people

• A valid commercial class "A" drivers license to drive a tractor trailer

• Demonstrated sensitivity to customer satisfaction

• Possess basic math aptitude, communication and organization skills

• Ability to operate a pallet jack

• High school diploma or equivalent

The hourly wage is $34.74. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
