Position Title: Driver
Department/Unit: Program Development Department
Reports To: Program Operation Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY
The Van Driver will be primarily responsible for transporting homeless partner agency participants/patients to needed external services and appointments. This role involves ensuring safe and timely transportation, maintaining the vehicle, and coordinating with program staff to meet participants'/patients' needs. Provides patient supervision and staff/unit support activities as assigned.
HOURS
Up to 40 hours per week
CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
1. Provides clerical support to counseling, case management staff, e.g., filing, make copies of forms, letter writing, answering phones, breakdown of discharge charts, update white boards with patient assignments, and chaff auditing, etc.
2. Provides transportation services utilizing company vehicles, including patient transportation, donations, pick-ups, and agency errands, etc.
3. Patient escorting and monitoring.
4. Attends in-service training and educational workshops.
5. Attends all required staff meetings.
6. Cooperates and communicates fully with other staff members regarding patient behavior, progress, and activities, etc.
7. Conducts self in a professional manner in areas of dress, language, attitude, and behavior.
8. Exhibits full knowledge and support of the philosophy and objectives of the Agency.
9. Fully understands and maintains policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and patient confidentiality.
10.Responsible for inspecting and ensuring proper maintenance of the company vehicle used. Fuels vehicle as needed.
11.Other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Director and/or Administration.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
• Valid California Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or GED
• Proficiency using GPS or navigation software
• Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws
• Minimum of 4 years driving experience, clean driving record with no major violations
• Age 25 or older
