Job Description
- Req#: 3884
- Safely drives residents to medical appointments, outings, and other destinations according to assigned schedule
- Adheres to traffic laws, regulations, and facility policies to ensure the safety of passengers and others on the road
- Assists residents into and out of vehicle
- Secures passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs while driving
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to coordinate transportation schedules and ensure resident needs are met
- Communicates with administrative staff regularly to receive instructions or report dealys and disruptions of service
- Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle, performing routine inspections, refueling and immediately reporting maintenance needs
- Keeps records of trips and behavior of passengers

- Current driver’s license and excellent driving record is required
- Previous experience in patient transportation or a similar role preferred
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
- Compassion, patience, and empathy in working with seniors
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
