- Undertake all transport duties as per the schedule or as directed by the Head Driver. This includes all or any transporting of:
- Staff to and from a place of work or training.
- Mail and parcels to various Hospitals.
- The shipment of blood, as required.
- Drugs, notes, medical records, parcels, and specimens as required. Any other regular or ad hoc transport requirements, as directed.
- Load and unload vehicles, as required and sort post
- Daily maintenance checks of vehicles, as per driver instruction sheets and to report any defects to the Transport Supervisor.
- Complete daily Record Sheets as required.
- Full driving licence - with no more than 3 points, with the ability to drive a 17 seater minibus on a D1 Licence and with a C1 category, the desirability to progress to CPC driver certification. (Please confirm all categories on your driving licence)
- A level of flexibility to be part of a team that operates from 0600 to 2030 Monday to Friday. With occasional weekend or Bank Holiday cover and a 1 in 4 On call, supporting the Neonatal out of hours Ambulance.
- We are a customer-focused team, that prides itself on its polite and courteous manner, communicating with varied departments within UHS and other healthcare providers in the Southampton area.
- Full driving licence - with no more than 3 points, with the ability to drive a 17 seater minibus on a D1 Licence and with a C1 category, the desirability to progress to CPC driver certification. (Please confirm all categories on your driving licence)

Main duties of the job
The Transport Team at University Hospital Southampton Trust (UHS) are delighted to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity for a customer-focused Driver to join our facilities services.
This busy hub of non-patient Drivers works across Southampton City and Hampshire, representing UHS and delivering high-quality services. Transport Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of staff and goods. Transporting patients both adults and children, for on-call commitments with neonates.
