Job summary
Out of Hours Driver for the Worcestershire Community Equipment Service, Band 2.
Working Pattern - 5 days on 5 days off, Monday to Sunday (Average working hours 17.5 per week)
Working Hours are 15:00 20:00 weekdays and 10:00 15:00 including Weekends and Public holidays.
We welcome people who have worked in driving or in warehouse environments previously and want to use their existing skills in the NHS.
Equally we are keen to hear from individuals who are passionate about service delivery and keen to promote excellence in health care in a role that does not require clinical training or previous specific experience, who want to be part of a highly efficient team, making a difference to patients and clinicians.
Excellent verbal communication skills and a full driving licence are essential. We will provide you with resources to develop and progress a long-term career in the NHS.

Main duties of the job
Undertake the delivery and collection of health and social care equipment to and from patients homes, driving one of our services vans.
Gain knowledge of equipment and be able to select it from stock and load your van based on the next days scheduled plan, with the support of senior drivers and warehouse supervisors.
Supported to gain skills for handling equipment, including manual handling processes and risk assessments to look after your safety and wellbeing when moving, delivering and collecting equipment.
Communicating politely with queries from patients, carers and staff when delivering/collecting equipment, phoning warehouse for advice/support if help is required.
You will be trained on how to assemble electric profiling beds which are needed to allow patients to come home quickly from hospital. You will regularly deliver, assemble, dismantle and collect these items.
Receive and respond to all emergency calls received up until 20:00 hours on weekdays and 15:00 hours on weekends and public bank holidays.
