      ESA WorkFirst Coordinator -- CSCC Virtual Case Management Team

      The Economic Services Administration, Community Services Division is seeking a WorkFirst Coordinator to serve as first-level supervision for all aspects of the WorkFirst program within the statewide Virtual Case Management Center.

      In this role, you will have operation oversight of all aspects of the WorkFirst programming in the Customer Service Contact Center VCMC. We will rely on your judgment relating to the WorkFirst program. You will be responsible for maintaining the existing processes related to developing, training, executing, and maintaining policies and procedures for the WorkFirst Program within the CSCC VCMC. You will coordinate all WorkFirst programming and partner with social service coordinators on WorkFirst social work program functions for all VCMC WorkFirst Teams in alignment with all department procedures, RCWs, and WACs.

      Although temporary, this job is funded for 12 months and is a great opportunity to grow your supervisory skills as you work to maintain excellent customer service and build the knowledge base of the virtual WorkFirst team. This role has statewide scope and will utilize a hybrid structure of telework and in-person as business needs require. Travel to locations within WA state may be necessary on occasion.

      Some of what you will do
      • Serve as the CSCC VCMC specialist in all CSD WorkFirst program administration, policy, and implementation by managing, directing, operating, and carrying out all WorkFirst programs in accordance with broad policy statements and legal requirements
      • Serve as a member of the CSCC Management Team and participate in the strategic planning efforts of the CSCC and VCMC
      • Provide leadership in supporting the WorkFirst units and overall team goals of the CSCC and to the VCMC WorkFirst supervisors to ensure WorkFirst program goals are achieved
      • Support a work culture of respect, equity, access, and inclusion within the CSCC/VCMC
      • Plan and organize WorkFirst Program Specialist training; provide clarifications, guidance, and solutions to WorkFirst program staff; oversee the adherence of VCMC staff in the procedurally correct use of eJAS program components, timelines, and associated program tasks
      • Provide direct supervision to a small team consisting of Social Services Training Specialist(s) and Management Analyst(s)

      Who Should Apply
      • Professionals with 8 years of progressively responsible work experience* delivering and managing social services to diverse, low-income populations, which should include:
        • Public assistance software
        • WorkFirst and other social service programs
        • Strategic planning/drafting implementation plans
        • Contact center/call center management
        • Public assistance program regulations, policies, and procedures
        * A bachelors or masters degree in social work, health or social science, public administration, or related field will substitute year for year for the work experience.

        Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities
        • Training others and adult learning styles
        • Facilitating, negotiating, developing, or implementing statewide programs and policies
        • Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical process control software
        • Effective verbal and written communication skills with diverse audiences including community partners, organizations, and staff
        • Use judgment to prioritize and make vital decisions in a high-volume, results-oriented environment where outcomes come under constant scrutiny by the public and legislature
