      Project Outline:

      Join us for a 12-week remotely working internship focusing on leveraging historical data to inform seamless Phase 2/Phase 3 (P2/P3) clinical trial designs in the pharmaceutical industry.

      You will work on:

      • Conducting literature reviews on adaptive designs, Bayesian methods, and simulation tools.

      • Developing simulation programs (FACTS or R) for historical borrowing in trial frameworks.

      • Designing and executing comprehensive simulation studies to analyze key metrics.

      • Applying historical borrowing in a relevant case study (if applicable).

      • Delivering a final presentation summarizing findings and implications.

      Impact:

      Your work will contribute to enhancing understanding of historical data's impact on trial metrics, aiding in streamlined future trial preparations. Additionally, this research could lead to potential publications offering practical guidance in seamless trial design.

      • Prefer candidates enrolled in a PhD program in Statistics, Biostatistics, or very closely related field. Desirable to have completed the qualification exam with at least 2-3 years of their doctoral program.

      Requirements / Qualifications:

      • Currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Takeda does not provide sponsorship for internship positions.

      • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week), within the core business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, for 10-12 weeks during the summer months.

      • PhD student in Statistics, Biostatistics, or very closely related field. Desirable to have completed the qualification exam with at least 2-3 years of their doctoral program.

      • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship with Takeda.

      • Please note that Takeda does not provide intern housing or a housing stipend.

      The hourly pay rate range is $20.00 per hour - $46.00 per hour. The final pay rate offered for this internship may consider several factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
