Palace Entertainment is a leading leisure park operator in the United States and Australia overseeing more than 25 entertainment venues, hotels and educational venues across 11 different states.

The People & Organization (P&O) Generalist functions as an HR expert to maintain organized and accurate employee records. The ideal candidate has a broad knowledge of HR topics that enables them to perform a diverse set of job duties each day and will play a critical and active role in all phases of the employee life cycle.

Roles & Responsibilities:

· Professionally and legally represent Dutch Wonderland Resort to ensure continued compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws
· Assist with all aspects of the employee life cycle, including recruiting, onboarding, compensation, talent, learning, employee relations, and terminations.
· Assist team members with password concerns, payroll questions, employee relations issues, policy and procedure questions, benefits inquiries, etc.
· Monitor HR email and voicemail channels to respond to time-sensitive messages from colleagues, managers, directors, and employees.
· Participate in talent acquisition, recruitment, and new hire orientation initiatives
· Take an active role in recruitment, including creating job posts for the company careers site and external sites, attending job fairs, and screening applicants
· Create onboarding plans and educate newly hired employees on policies and procedures.
· Ensure HRIS data integrity while entering employee transactions, pay rates, and terminations into Workday
· Accurately maintain complete and accurate spreadsheets of HR data, using spreadsheet or database software
· Maintain physical and digital files for employees and ensure files are properly stored according to policy retention requirements
· Investigate and resolve employee relations issues promptly and legally.
· Provide guidance to department leaders when it comes to performance coaching and discipline
· Maintain uniform inventories to ensure adequate supply of items is always on-hand
· Schedule various departmental trainings and/or orientations using automated calendars; make updates to calendars, as needed
· Compile all information pertaining to payroll preparation and distribution, i.e., attachments and messages, terminations completed and filed.
· Create employee ID's and name tags for new employees
· Implement and improve employee recognition programs, which includes partnering with local businesses for discount cards, and plan and execute employee engagement events to boost morale
· Perform copying, filing and various other administrative duties
· Ensure proper inventory of forms used by P&O Department.
· All other duties assigned by leadership.
Requirements:
Education & Work Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Equivalent work experience will also be considered in lieu of formal education.
· 2+ years of previous experience in an HR role is highly desired
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements:
· Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close
· Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift
· Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
· Ability to portray a positive, professional attitude
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive employee data
· Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively with a wide range of diverse personnel and guests
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point
· Knowledge of Google Sheets or Smart Sheet, a plus
· Ability to use office technology and equipment, such as PC, software, and copier
· Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time, while using a computer
· Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time throughout the workday
· Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders
· Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 20 pounds or more
Working Conditions:
· This role will be primarily based in an office setting with some interaction with other outdoor park locations
· Some exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions
· Subject to frequent interruptions, constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments
