- Prediction of Engine shock, vibration, and acoustic environments
- Review shock, vibration, and acoustic measurements from hot fire and flight data
- Derive dynamic environments levels and documentation.
- Develop, supervise, and verify component environment tests and support the development/improvement of data reduction methods.
- Work closely with the test and instrumentation teams for ensuring adequate and good quality data is captured from ground/flight testing
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or aerospace
- Excellent physical understanding of rocket engines and related physics
- Strong technical fundamentals in propulsion, fluids, acoustics, and structural dynamics
- Solid foundation of vibroacoustic and structural static/dynamic fundamentals, signal processing methodology, and software/tool development knowledge
- Understanding of PSD, SPL, SRS, Miles Equation, fatigue damage, FFT, static/dynamic equilibrium, stress/strain/modulus, bending/shear/axial force development, etc.
- Ability to work effectively in teams
- Ability to be self-directed and balance several tasks at one time
- Ability to communicate analysis results effectively
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien, or otherwise able to review all export-controlled technical information
- 4+ years’ experience in rocket engine development, with at least 2 years in vivibroacoustic
- Experience with cryogenic fluids and rocket engine design
- Familiarity with rocket engine hot-fire testing and data collection using instrumentation such as accelerometers, pressure transducers, strain gages, load cells, and microphones.
- Familiarity with Creo (Pro/E), Windchill
- Excellent understanding of MATLAB, Python

As part of a dedicated team of specialists, you will be responsible for developing the engine shock, vibration, and acoustic environments. You will also develop the tools and methods for efficiently processing engine hot-fire or vehicle flight data. You will work in a fast-paced environment and provide innovative solutions to challenging physics problems experienced in the demanding environments of rocket engines.
