      Job Summary

      Provides advice to internal teams and work units on technical solutions and standards to adapt and support the design, development, testing, implementation, integration, maintenance, and support of interactive programming for End User training courseware and related NAV CANADA e-learning products. Designs and develops audio, video and graphic assets for End User Learning courseware using Adobe and other software. Tests eLearning modules and resolves errors using various debugging tools and techniques. Supports research to identify and assess the benefits and costs of new technological e-learning product investments. Maintains currency with trends, developments and technologies in CBT standards, data modelling, and e-learning courseware development and other related topics to improve Interoperability services and/or system/network reliability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness. Provides operational and technical support for e-learning problems passed on by various Subject Matter Experts and/or other technical staff, to clarify and improve specifications or to identify alternative programming solutions, including analysing and implementing solutions to system deficiencies.

      Works closely with other departments to provide technical expertise and support in the development of digital applications for learning Materials. Provides technical support and solutions for SharePoint and other web platform tools, Investigates new content authoring and publishing processes and tools

      • Able to express oneself effectively through spoken, written, or non-verbal means to exchange information as well as the ability to listen.
      • Use available resources to triage and perform tasks in an efficient and timely manner in response to current and future workload.
      • Demonstrate personal attributes that improve performance and maintain an active involvement in continuous development.

      Education:

      • Recognized diploma and Degree in computer science or related degree with e learning specialization or an equivalent combination of education and experience

      Experience:

      • 1 to 3 years of experience working with the development of e learning products
      • Experience in programming using CSS, XML, JavaScript, and HTML CSS
      • Experience in the design, development and testing of e-Learning using industry standard authoring tools
      • Experience in analysing user requirements and designing/implementing creative solutions
      • Experience in audio/video production techniques and graphic asset creation

      Knowledge :

      • Knowledge of CSS, XML, JavaScript, and HTML languages and standards
      • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe Captivate software
      • Knowledge of design methodology and techniques
      • Knowledge of design, development and testing processes from preliminary design to formal testing and acceptance
      • Knowledge of evolving industry standards, technology trends, and protocols for e-Learning and mobile technologies

      Abilities:

      • Plan, analyze, design, develop and implement computer, web, and tablet-based training.
      • Analyze and implement solutions to resolve technical problems related to the development of digital learning.
      • Adapt to changing priorities, work under minimal supervision, work in both team and individual settings and handle multiple concurrent tasks.
      • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.

      Working Conditions:

      • Hybrid: This position is based at the Ottawa Head Office may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
      • Occasional travel required.
