Do you want to build a career that is truly worthwhile? Working at the World Bank Group provides a unique opportunity for you to help our clients solve their greatest development challenges. The World Bank Group is one of the largest sources of funding and knowledge for developing countries; a unique global partnership of five institutions dedicated to ending extreme poverty, increasing shared prosperity and promoting sustainable development. For more information, visit www.worldbank.orgThe Development Economics Vice Presidency seeks to increase understanding of development policies and programs by providing intellectual leadership and analytical services to the Bank and the development community. Within this Vice Presidency, the Enterprise Analysis Unit (DECEA) has developed the Enterprise Surveys (ES) which is the main survey instrument that links conditions of the business environment with firm performance. The ES covers regulatory compliance costs, logistical impediments, and business-government relations in sectors such as manufacturing, retail, and other services..
Building from its extensive database created over more than 15 years the Unit is now in a position to expand its design, implementation and monitoring of the Enterprise Surveys to cover a broader set of countries with greater frequency and to implement improvements in the methodology as decided in an ongoing internal and external discussion. This also responds to the greater demand for ES data as an input for the new Business Ready Flagship report of the World Bank. The Unit is also expanding its work measuring the informal sector around the developing world. As a result of larger number of surveys completed, increased quantity and quality of data, and increased demand for data products and means of data dissemination, the unit looks to hire two Extended Term Consultants (ETC) to meet these data management demands.
