The Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, Palm Beach County, is accepting applications for its 2025-2026 E.A.G.L.E. Fellowship Program (Enhancing and Guiding Legal Education).
If you have an interest in attending law school but unsure exactly what a legal career looks like, then this is the opportunity for you! The Palm Beach County Clerk’s Office wants to work with college graduates who will be applying to law school but who are not yet certain about their future career plans.
The Clerk’s Office will provide a year-long 20 hour per week paid position for up to three motivated individuals (starting in early September 2025). During this fellowship, you will learn about the various areas of law (including criminal, civil, family, and traffic) with work assignments that may include: providing assistance to self-represented litigants, serving as a courtroom administrator in small claims court, checking in at criminal court, and working in the Legal Department.

Students who are invited to participate further in the interview process will receive an email no later than June 15, 2025. Assists other unit personnel in supporting efficient functioning of the work unit.
Assists with adding and updating party/attorney information in the system; updates case status.
Assists citizens and pro-se litigants in navigating the legal process in the Self-Service Center, as needed.
Assists with providing superior customer service in assistance with completion of legal forms, such as eviction and small claims forms, as needed.
Legal
Assists with drafting answers to complaints, researching bond information, and conduct other legal research as requested.
Participates in the Self-Service Navigator program.
Assists self-represented litigants with form completion and guiding them through their court case from the initial filing of their case to the entry of the final judgment and any post judgment modification or enforcement actions.
Assists with court check-in, court compliance, court collections, and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Receives training from a supervising attorney in the areas of Foreclosure, Criminal Law, Family Law, County Civil, Mental Health, and Circuit Civil.
Attends our educational workshops, assists in the development of resources and form instructions, and observes court proceedings.High school diploma (or GED) Must be at least 17 years of age. Must be enrolled or a current student at an accredited school program (university/college). Highly motivated with a desire to learn.
