- Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field
- Valid Michigan Teacher Certification, with preference for Spanish certification plus at least one other area of certification
- Successful teaching experience in a public school district, either through regular employment, student teaching, long-term substitute teaching, or internship
- Passion for working collaboratively with youth, families, and staff
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills supporting a team approach to education
- Eagerness to approach problems from new and different perspectives
- Ability to use highly effective instruction and assessments to create a cycle of student success
- Growth mindset focused on constructive interactions
- High degree of professional ethics
- Create a welcoming classroom environment for all students
