Position Description
The position is for a teacher of early elementary students in second grade. The teacher will be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate grade level classroom instruction and activities.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
• Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate certification for the assignment
Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
• Knowledge of theory, research methods, and best practices in early elementary education.
• Ability to use data to inform instruction and differentiate for a wide variety of learners.
• Work collaboratively with other staff members and administrators.
• Understanding of social emotional learning and best practices in supporting all students social emotional well-being.
• Ability to communicate effectively and relate positively with students, parents, and administration.
• Knowledge of age appropriate curriculum, application of appropriate assessment, and knowledge of effective use of age appropriate, research based instructional strategies for lower elementary students.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• Computer literacy skills.
