Grade: G10; Salary Range: £40,478 - £45,495
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, inspiring and high achieving Early Years Teacher to join the Early Years Team in Walsall. Working predominantly with schools and sometimes with private settings to ensure all provide an Early Years Foundation Stage that is good or outstanding and that children make excellent progress and attain well across all areas of learning.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for ensuring schools and settings have a clear understanding of their statutory duties and guidance from the DfE and Ofsted. The Early Years team meets their responsibilities under the Early Education and Childcare Statutory Duties for Local Authorities, April 2023, providing a service of the highest standards, which improves outcomes for children in their early years.
The role includes work at an operational level as well as contributing to plans to challenge, support and improve the early year’s sector. You will develop programmes that:· support schools who have been judged, at inspection, as less than good,
· raise attainment in schools and settings
· deliver training
· work with other agencies to maximise opportunities for professional development of the early years sector.
The role also includes working within a small team sometimes taking on specific time limited tasks such as rolling out new DfE agenda’s.
The role has line management responsibility for the two/ three Improvement Officers who work with the private day care settings and childminders. You will ensure that schools and settings are monitored and supported well and promoted collaborative work across the teams in Education, Social Care, Health, Parent Carer Forum and other partners and stakeholders.
We would like to hear from you if:· You are an experienced EY teacher, solutions-focussed, able to identify what works and implement change to improve quality and outcomes, with a demonstrable understanding of the Statutory Framework for EYFS and all Ofsted Handbooks.
· You have the highest of ambitions for children in their early years and their families
· You would like to make a difference and improve outcomes for children by the age of 5 years
· You want to feel energised about coming to work and feel valued for who you are and what you bring.
