- Responsible for managing all phases of audit engagements (from planning to timely wrap-up)
- Supervise staff including providing timely performance feedback to the staff
- Prepare documentation, work papers, financial statements and client communication letters
- Complete initial review of tax returns, as required
- Consult with clients on benefit plan documentation, administrative and operational issues.
- Maintain contact with clients throughout the year, and possess a thorough knowledge of the client and their industry to provide value-added recommendations
- Serve as a mentor & resource for audit staff
- Bacheloru2019s or Masteru2019s degree in Accounting
- Minimum of two years of experience in public accounting
- Specific experience auditing qualified defined contribution and defined benefit plans including 401(k), 403(b), multi-employer, ESOP and health and welfare plans is a plus
- Familiarity with the various forms associated with employee benefit plans, including Form 5500 is a plus
- Proven ability to consult with clients on benefit plan documentation, administrative and operational issues and/or DOL notices or examinations, plan terminations, plan mergers and acquisitions, etc. is a plus
- Ability to learn & expand knowledge of ERISA and the retirement plan industry
