      The Analytics Office branch provides quality information and advice to decision-makers through value-added analysis, modelling and research. The branch also provides analysis, expertise and leads work in econometric forecasting and modelling, quantitative research, economic data provision, performance measurement and continuous improvement.

      To support economic, statistical and forecasting projects by developing and managing data, ensuring accuracy of computations and methodologies, conducting comprehensive economic and statistical analysis, and developing reports on results.

      Job Requirements:

      Education:

      • Graduate degree in Economics or a closely related field such as statistics, commerce, mathematics, social science, public administration, AND a minimum of one year of related experience; OR
      • Bachelor's Degree in Economics OR a closely related field such as statistics, commerce, mathematics, social science, public administration, AND a minimum of two years of related experience; OR
      • An equivalent combination of education, training and related experience may be considered.

      Related Experience Must be Within the Last Five Years and Includes:

      • Using Excel, relational databases, large datasets for data extraction and statistical analysis. Using R, SQL or other programming language for data extraction and statistical analysis.
      • Developing and applying statistical/economic modeling and conducting and/or leading projects involving complex statistical/economic analyses.
      • Preparing and presenting the results of complex statistical and/or economic analysis through written summaries, reports and visual analytics, to senior management and executive.

      This is a temporary opportunity until 03/31/2025

      A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.

      An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.

      This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Child and Family Development offices: Burnaby, Courtenay, Fort Nelson, Fort St John, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Nelson, Prince George, Vancouver, Victoria, Vernon, Surrey, Port Moody or Williams Lake.

      Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.

      Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
