      Economic Policy Advisor

      ***This position requires an active Top Secret clearance.***

      The Economic Policy Advisor will make a meaningful impact on global women's economic security and empowerment. You'll play a vital role in advising on policies that promote economic competitiveness and well-paying, quality jobs. With your expertise in international politics, foreign policy, and gender issues, you'll collaborate with government agencies, foreign counterparts, and key stakeholders to advance women's empowerment and gender equality.       Compensation & Benefits:

      Salary for Economic Policy Advisor: $135,991.36

      Pay commensurate with experience.

      Economic Policy Advisor Responsibilities Include:

      • Serve on the Women’s Economic Security (WES) Team within S/GWI, reporting to the WES Director, and make recommendations to the Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues on global women’s economic security and empowerment, with a focus on promoting economic competitiveness through well-paying, quality jobs, particularly in the STEM sectors.
      • Coordinate S/GWI’s engagement in Asia–Pacific Economic Cooperations (APEC).
      • Support women’s economic empowerment policy for 1–2 geographic regions.
      • Engage with a wide range of interlocutors, including Department of State’s Regional Bureaus, Posts, and E family bureaus, as well as the interagency, the Gender Policy Council, and the National Security Council.
      • Directly support S/GWI Principals, to advance women’s empowerment and gender equality through high-level bilateral and regional engagement.
      • Support S/GWI’s participation at various intra- or inter-agency meetings and will be responsible for building and maintaining positive working relationships within and external to the USG, as well as coordination with a wide array of stakeholders.
      • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

      Economic Policy Advisor Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

      • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in political science, foreign affairs, economics, law, or a similar field and minimum of 5 years’ experience in international politics/foreign policy, research & evaluation, social science, or other related fields.
      • Experience with leadership in policy analysis, development, and coordination on economic policy, STEM, human rights, and gender.
      • Requires Top SECRET security clearance.
      • Strong skills in communication, policy formulation, and multi-stakeholder coordination.
      • Ability to prepare draft briefing papers, talking points, and/or speeches, as needed.
      • English language (written and spoken) communication skills.
      • Ability to solve problems and encourage consistent, solid performance.
      • Ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate activities in multiple locations, act decisively in daily work, and work well in a multi-cultural team environment.
      • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and computer skills. Ability to work independently to assess priorities and manage daily coordination of details with minimal supervision.
