- Performs intervention activities for children birth to 3 in home, or other environment. At this time RMHS is using a hybrid model including telehealth as well as in person.
- Writes timely and complete IFSP goals, progress notes, correspondence and other documentation needed to provide high quality services and meet state and company requirements.
- Creates strategies based on family priorities that are measurable and meaningful.
- Effectively communicates test results and proposed strategies that are functional for the child’s and family’s life and are approached in a Primary Service provider model.
- Collaborates with staff to implement IFSPs. Shares knowledge and resources that enhance children’s developmental progress.
- Provides families and service providers information about proper techniques to assist with activities at home that supports the child and family’s participation.
- Implements the Primary Service Provider Model for children enrolled in Early Intervention
- Participates in Trans disciplinary team for Early Intervention caseload as a developmental expert and resource to peers
- Manages schedule to accommodate client schedules and meet billable client service hours set by the department (50%-62% of FTE) while utilizing correct CPT coding and non-coding based on billing hierarchy.
- Is culturally responsive and competent in working with a diverse population.
- Assists team members in advocating for the needs of the individual customer both within the agency and externally.
- Performs other clinical or administrative duties as assigned by leadership
- Knowledge of Colorado developmental disabilities system.
- Knowledge of Early Intervention systems at local, state, and national levels, including standards of practice.
- Ability to work well with complex family issues.
- Ability to understand the needs of a range of disabilities.
- Knowledge of life span issues, including typical and atypical early human development.
- Knowledge of family social, emotional, financial, psychological, and cultural issues.
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance, and individual differences in ability, personality, and interests.
- Knowledge of standards of care for young children of with specific diagnoses such as extremely low birth weight, Down syndrome or autism.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively
- Excellent writing skills.
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education.
- Current Colorado State Early Childhood Special Education certificate
- Two years of experience in field of developmental disabilities.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in working with infants with complex medical conditions that place them at high risk for developmental disabilities and their families.
- Fluent in Spanish or other relevant language desired.
- Experience working successfully as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Experience working directly with community partners such as Denver Public Schools, child care centers, hospital NICUs, Early Intervention Colorado.
- Experience implementing behavioral strategies applicable to young children and their families.
- Actively communicate with clients, caregivers, families, stakeholders, advocates and providers
- Works with clients, families and appropriate community agencies as necessary to facilitate services for staff, stakeholders or clients
- Ability to meet/work with staff, stakeholders or clients in a variety of settings
- Attends staff, team and department meetings
- Participates in agency and community planning and education
- Develops and maintains records, plans and reports
- Lift and/or carry 20 lbs.
- Sit, stand and walk for reasonable periods of time
- Maintains prompt and regular attendance
- Performs related work as assigned
- Ability to drive personal or company vehicle
- Attends in-services, staffing and other meetings with supervisor’s approval (may be appointed to committees)
- Valid driver’s license
- Proof of motor vehicle insurance
- Personal vehicle in good operating condition for use during work
- No major violations in the past three years.
- No more than two moving violations in the past three years
- Ability to meet and maintain agency driving requirements and operate agency vehicles

Job Location: Main Office - Denver, COSalary Range: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 Salary/yearDescription
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 annual salary + merit increase bonuses
Position Purpose
The Early Childhood Special Educator (ECSE) will provide direct intervention services to customers referred and enrolled in Part C Early Intervention services (birth to three years old). The ECSE will also provide consultation to Service Coordinators, contracted providers, and families, to assist in meeting the needs of customers. May participate in Part C eligibility evaluation as business dictates. The Early Childhood Special Educator will report to the Clinical Team Lead in the Developmental and Behavioral Health Department
