Leading and managing a team of document review professionals, providing instruction, oversight and feedback to the review team.
Collaborating directly with clients to understand their needs and objectives, and developing and implementing document review strategies tailored to specific case requirements.
Developing document review protocols and arranging appropriate training for review staff.
Managing and allocating review resources to meet project deadlines and client needs.
Implementing quality control measures to maintain accuracy and consistency in the review process.
Monitoring of review statistics and progress, and resolving bottlenecks to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
Utilising review tool analytics (structured and conceptual) and Continuous Active Learning to optimize the review process.
Performing Second Level Legal Review (for both relevance and privilege) and Quality Assurance Review where required.
Act as the primary contact for the client, addressing their needs, providing updates, monitoring the budget and managing expectations.
Drafting of reports to document all review activities and results.
The opportunity to project manage eDiscovery workflows.
Staying up to date with industry standards and emerging trends and technologies.
Assisting with business development efforts, including drafting of proposals and preparation of materials, and presenting at speaking engagements or conversing with potential clients.
Assisting with business administrative tasks including billing.
Lawyer admitted to the bar in Canada and licensed to practice law.
Specialist in the Relativity document review platform, with associated certifications a plus.
Proven experience managing an eDiscovery document review.
Understanding of the whole eDiscovery process as per the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (“EDRM”).
Excellent technical skills, with experience and/or knowledge of eDiscovery tools, methodologies and protocols, ideally with related industry certifications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and analytical ability.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
A high level of personal integrity and energy, a commitment to teamwork and a strong desire to learn.
When applying to a Quebec based opportunity, fluency in French is required. Outside of Quebec, fluency in French is an asset.
A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside and/or coaching diverse people and perspectives.
The position requires flexibility and will require travel throughout Canada which can be up to 20% of your time.
This role doesn’t support completion of the Canadian CPA designation.
