Job Description

- Assist case teams with all aspects of eDiscovery document collection, review, and production
- Create and oversee QC processes
- Create budgets for discovery work
- Consult on eDiscovery meet and confers to direct and provide guidance on processes regarding negotiating search terms, metadata, use and parameters for predictive coding, etc.
- Negotiate ESI protocols
- Prepare witness prep binders and materials
- Manage contract attorneys teams
- Prepare witness prep binders and materials
- Support case teams by performing key functionalities of top document review platforms such as Relativity, DISCO, etc., such as running complex Boolean searches, crafting case-specific coding panels, and creating detailed saved searches
- Must have a JD and active bar licensure
- Must have a sophisticated understanding of eDiscovery processes and experience supporting large, multijurisdictional, complex cases
- Must have an understanding of privilege and work product issues, including the applicable rules and caselaw governing privilege disputes
- Must have experience with analytic products such as predictive coding and continuous active learning
- Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, organization and written and oral communication skills
- Flexibility to work extended hours and some weekends
- Certifications in Brainspace and Relativity preferred
- Experience with Opus 2 a plus
- Foreign language skills are a plus

The eDiscovery Team works closely with our litigators, arbitrators, antitrust litigators and other legal support team members to provide streamlined and efficient eDiscovery support and document review and production.
Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We require strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, flexibility and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service.

Key requirements
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York and California, Freshfields is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the States of New York and California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $175,000 to $225,000.
