      The Role

      Step into a creative, faith-forming role as an Editor with the Children’s Curriculum Team at David C Cook. From creating new content to managing legacy curriculum that meets the needs of children today, this role will feed your creativity while honing your precision and consistency. The Children’s Curriculum Team develops and shepherds biblically centered curriculum and educational resources for churches, families, and ministry organizations.

      Specifically, this collaborative role will lead the continued updates and development of the legacy curriculum HeartShaper and support the creation of new intergenerational resources. This role requires a familiarity with Scripture and theology. The ideal candidate will have a firm foundation in copyediting, proofreading, and content development. In addition, the successful candidate will be detail-oriented, punctilious, and have experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.

      Qualifications


      Responsibilities

      • Develop and edit content that meets the needs of a specified audience, including field testing when appropriate.
      • Edit for grammar, theology, style, structure, and clarity to meet editorial and brand standards.
      • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, authors, contributors, and reviewers throughout the editorial process.
      • Implement feedback from editors, reviewers, and product leads to align with editorial vision and product goals.
      • Ensure adherence to house style and organizational guidelines for consistency and brand alignment.
      • Create and manage workflows and schedules for assigned projects to ensure timely delivery.
      • Collaborate with design and production teams to prepare materials for publication.\

      What We’re Looking For

      • Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education, Biblical Studies, or equivalent theological education required. Emphasis on English, Communications, Publishing, or related field preferred.
      • Minimum 3 years of editorial experience, preferably in curriculum or ministry resources. Children’s ministry experience is a plus.
      • Proficient in editing, copyediting, proofreading, and content development.
      • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
      • Familiarity with AP Stylebook and/or Chicago Manual of Style.
      • Comfortable working with theological or faith-based content.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
      • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
      • High integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
