      Work Locations: With the exception of some select roles that have in-office requirements, A+E Global Media operates on a flexible model that allows for remote, hybrid or full time in office work (in certain locales).

      Office locations include New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Stamford, CT.

      Job Description

      THE ROLE: EDITOR, WEBSITES (2 POSITIONS)

      A+E Global Media s eek s two versatile, nimble E ditor s to line edit and assign article s for its websites. One editor will focus on history content for History.com and one will focus on crime content for AETV.com. The Editors will help fill our content library with fascinating, approachable and factually reliable stories. Stories may range from features and quick-hit news pieces to encyclopedic articles. Th ese job s are primarily focused on editing text. Both roles require working quickly, accurately, and creatively to bring stories to life , and the ability to look for new opportunities to build conversation with our audience. These positions report to Senior Editor s .

      MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU’LL DO:

      • Edit stories to improve narrative and precision

      • Ensure a compelling story structure that puts the reader first

      • Build stories in the CMS, deciding what related content will create a strong on-page experience

      • Ensure discoverability, eg SEO and sharable headlines

      • Work with w riters to develop ideas

      • Assist or build newsletters , social posts or special content

      • Take into account metrics to improve our content

      • Evolve these roles as the changing landscape de m ands

      BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

      • Minimum five years text editing experience at an authoritative website, preferably with daily deadlines

      • BA/BS degree in related disciple is preferred

      THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

      • Proficiency with a CMS

      • Strong written and verbal communication skills

      • Demonstrated track record of teamwork and collaboration; lone wolves need not apply

      • Strong portfolio of relevant work

      • Deep understanding of journalistic standards and practices, including knowledge of how to assess the credibility and reliability of sources

      • Interest in history, crime, and popular culture

      • Be ve r y comfortable with change and moving fast to do things differently

      Compensation

      Hourly Pay Range: $38.99 - $44.83

      Annual Incentive Target: 5%


      The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the

      minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will

      be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills,

      competencies, location, and experience. A+E offers a competitive total compensation
