What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Edit and rewrite manuscripts for a peer-reviewed medical journal
- Ensure accuracy of references, data, and copyright compliance
- Coordinate with authors, illustrators, and web designers for graphic elements
- Maintain editorial schedules and deadlines
- Support acquisition of physician-authored journal articles
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field
- Demonstrated medical writing and editing ability
- Proficiency in online medical resource use and publishing process
- Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and time management skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical publishing
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in medical journal publishing
- Strong editing and writing skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to manage freelancers, designers, and production people
